There are some wineries that just love to throw a party, and are really good at it. There is always plenty of food, cool people and of course wine. The events are unique and memorable without excluding people who are not generally wine lovers. Toogood Estate is one of those wineries, and the events that proprietor Paul Toogood and his staff throw at the winery are ALL THAT and more.
Paul Toogood likes to have a good time and just enjoy life. That is evident if you happen to spy him around the winery property or in the beautiful wine caves. He usually has a Hawaiian shirt on, shorts and sandals. Truly it is the “Cheeseburger in Paradise” life, which happens to be the name of one if his popular events!
Some of the events for 2013 included Winemaker Lobster Dinner with Paul, Wine and Gourmet Pizza Festival, Grape Crush Safari, Halloween Party and Private Tasting and a Hawaiian Luau BBQ Dinner Party to name a few. This month, you can stop by the winery and taste the first ever Noir-tage, which could be one of the first times a Pinot noir and a Pinotage have ever been blended! The Toogood Estate Noir-tage event runs from November 1 through November 17 and features special Family Select Case pricing featuring 4 bottles each of Noir-tage, Havana Lady and Bomb Diggity for only $180. Special pricing ends on November 30, 2013.
Another popular Toogood Estate event is the Bottle Your Own events! For $8.98 a bottle for a mix and match case, you can bottle a few different varietals and save yourself a bunch of bucks! Bottling your own wine is a fun way to get a hands on experience of one aspect of the wine making process.
For those who are truly adventurous, a limited amount of Toogood Estate wine fans can spend 19 days with Paul on a Turquoise Coast Turkey Trip. Spending 11 days inland on a trip that begins and ends in Istanbul, and then continues on a 9 day cruise along the unbelievable Turquoise Coast and its islands. Just another example of how Toogood Estate takes its events to a whole other level! Get notified of all the Toogood Estate events by joining their email list, or stop by next time you are in Fair Play and see the beautiful wine caves for yourself and taste some great wines.
