One of the wine world’s best kept secrets lies deep in the heart of El Dorado County in the Sierra foothills … Fair Play. Within an hours drive from Sacramento, you will find over 20 family-owned boutique wineries who take pride in their land, their wines, and their customers. Since becoming its own appellation in 2001, Fair Play has developed a reputation for high quality wine grapes that yield deeply flavorful, intense wines from an amazingly diverse range of grape varieties.
Although many people associate the Sierra Foothills and Fair Play with the popular wine grape Zinfandel, and rightly so, Fair Play is also home to some outstanding Rhone and Italian varietals. Syrah, Petite Sirah, Viognier, Sangiovese and Barbera can all be found at many of the Fair Play wineries along side the favorites such as Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
Fair Play offers some of the best value on premium wines in California. Most all the wineries offer even better value for their wine club members and will ship to all states that allow wine shipments. Be sure to check out the Events Page for all the happenings in Fair Play, and don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter to learn more about your favorites wineries and stay in the know about new releases and new events.
Before visiting us in Fair Play, be sure to download the 2015 Fair Play Brochure that features a map and all the contact details and hours of our wineries.
